The Syngonium Silver Holly (also called Silver Arrow or Holly Syngonium) is a stunning, compact arrowhead vine known for its silvery foliage and forgiving nature. Here's your friendly care guide:

🌞 Light

  • Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its silver variegation. A spot near a north- or east-facing window is ideal.

  • Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves .

  • Can tolerate medium to low light, but growth slows and leaf color may dull

💧 Water

  • Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 1–2 inches feel dry

  • Reduce watering slightly during winter.

  • No sitting water—good drainage prevents root rot.

🌱 Soil & Potting

  • Thrives in a well-draining potting mix, ideally with perlite or orchid bark

  • Pot with drainage holes only; repot every 1–2 years to refresh soil or accommodate growth.

🌡️ Humidity & Temperature

  • Loves average to slightly higher humidity—60–75 °F (15–24 °C) is perfect.

  • Mist leaves now and then, or place near a humidity tray.

  • Avoid temps below 55°F (13°C) and keep away from cold drafts.

✂️ Pruning & Growth Habit

  • This cultivar is more self-heading (bushy) than vining

  • Trim any leggy or damaged stems to maintain shape.

  • You can encourage modest vining with a moss pole or trellis, but it's naturally compact.

🌼 Fertilizer

  • Feed monthly with a gentle balanced houseplant fertilizer during spring and summer.

  • Skip feeding fall through winter when growth naturally slows

🐛 Pests & Common Problems

  • Occasionally affected by mealybugs or spider mites, especially in dry conditions. Wipe leaves or use insecticidal soap at the first sign.

  • Yellowing or drooping leaves = overwatering; brown edges = low humidity or underwatering.

  • Leaf burn = too much direct sunlight.
