Size

The plant photos shown are our stock images used to represent the general appearance, size, and quality of the plant you’ll receive. Please remember that each plant is unique—natural variations in color, shape, and size are completely normal!

Light

  • Bright, indirect light is ideal

  • Can handle some gentle morning sun

  • Too little light = more green, less yellow

  • Harsh direct sun can scorch the yellow areas

If you want strong yellow variegation, brighter light is your best friend.

Water

  • Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil are dry

  • Likes to dry slightly between waterings

  • Never let it sit in soggy soil

Signs to watch:

  • Droopy leaves → underwatered

  • Yellowing lower leaves → overwatering

Soil

  • Fast-draining but moisture-retentive mix

  • Great option:

    • Potting soil

    • Perlite or pumice

    • Orchid bark or coco chips

Think “chunky pothos mix.”

Temperature & Humidity

  • Prefers 18–30°C (65–85°F)

  • Normal household humidity is fine

  • Will grow faster with 40–60%+ humidity

Very adaptable—one reason people love it.

Fertilizing

  • Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring & summer

  • Use a balanced houseplant fertilizer at half strength

  • No feeding in winter

Growth Habit & Support

  • A climbing aroid—give it a moss pole or plank

  • Climbing = larger leaves and better fenestrations

  • Trailing is fine, but leaves stay smaller

If you want those dramatic split leaves, let it climb!

 Pruning & Propagation

  • Prune to control length or encourage bushiness

  • Easy to propagate from node cuttings in water or soil

  • Cut below a node with at least one aerial root

 Common Issues

  • Fading yellow: not enough light

  • Brown tips: inconsistent watering or low humidity

  • Pests: spider mites & thrips (check leaf undersides)

 Variegation Notes

  • Yellow Flame variegation is stable but still light-dependent

  • If a vine starts going all green, you can prune it back to a variegated node
