Venus Fly Trap

Carnivorous plants are perennial herbs that have adapted to nutrient-poor soils (like bogs and swamps) by trapping and digesting insects and small animals to supplement their diet. They employ a range of trapping mechanisms, such as snap traps (Dionaea), sticky mucus (Drosera), or deep pits (Nepenthes). While they all produce flowers, they are primarily grown for their unique traps.
