Light

• Loves bright, indirect light—think morning sun or a few feet away from a bright window.

• No direct sun, please! It can scorch those gorgeous leaves.

Watering

• Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy.

• Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. These plants are a bit dramatic about dry soil (they’ll curl their leaves to show displeasure ).

• Use filtered or distilled water if you can—Calatheas are super sensitive to fluoride and chlorine in tap water.

 Humidity

• This plant is a humidity queen—aim for 50%+ humidity.

• Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or group it with other plants to boost moisture in the air.

• Misting can help, but not as much as consistent humidity.

 Temperature

• Prefers it cozy: 65–80°F (18–27°C).

• No cold drafts or sudden temp changes—it’s not into surprises.

 Soil

• Go for a well-draining, rich soil mix.

• A mix of peat or coco coir, perlite, and a bit of orchid bark works great.

 Extra Tips

• Rotate the plant occasionally for even growth.

• Clean the leaves gently with a damp cloth to keep them breathing well.

• Don’t worry if older leaves occasionally yellow—it’s normal. Just trim them off.
