Size

* The plant photos shown are our stock images used to represent the general appearance, size, and quality of the plant you’ll receive. Please remember that each plant is unique—natural variations in color, shape, and size are completely normal!

Light

  • Needs full sun — at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily.

  • Indoors, place near the brightest south- or west-facing window.

  • Without enough light, it becomes leggy and produces fewer blooms.

Watering

  • Let the top 1–2 inches of soil dry out before watering.

  • Water deeply, then let excess drain away — lavender hates soggy roots.

  • In winter, reduce watering; the plant rests and needs less moisture.

  • Signs of overwatering: yellow leaves, root rot, or moldy soil.

Humidity & Air Circulation

  • Prefers low to moderate humidity with good airflow.

  • Avoid misting — excess moisture can cause fungal issues.

  • If indoors, use a small fan or open windows occasionally to improve circulation.

Temperature

  • Ideal range: 60–75°F (16–24°C).

  • Can tolerate cooler nights down to 40–50°F (4–10°C), but not hard frost.

  • If you live in a cold region, bring it indoors before freezing temperatures.

Soil

  • Needs very well-draining, slightly alkaline soil.

  • A mix of cactus/succulent soil + perlite or coarse sand works well.

  • Avoid rich or compact soil — lavender thrives in lean conditions.

Fertilizing

  • Minimal feeding needed.

  • Use a diluted balanced fertilizer (10-10-10 or similar) once in spring.

  • Over-fertilizing leads to excessive leaf growth and fewer flowers.

Pruning

  • Prune lightly after flowering to shape the topiary and encourage new growth.

  • Avoid cutting into old, woody stems — they rarely regrow.

  • Regular pruning keeps the tree compact and encourages bushier growth.

Repotting

  • Repot every 2–3 years or when roots fill the container.

  • Choose a pot only one size larger, with good drainage holes.

Blooming

  • Blooms best with lots of sunlight and slightly dry conditions.

  • Deadhead spent flowers to encourage new blooms.

  • Expect flowering from late spring through summer.

Overwintering Indoors

If grown outdoors in summer:

  1. Bring inside before frost.

  2. Place in a bright, cool room (around 60°F).

  3. Water sparingly during winter rest.

  4. Return outdoors once nights stay above 50°F.
