Golden Pothos

Light

• Best: Bright, indirect light (near a window with filtered sun).

• Okay with: Low light—it’ll survive, but the variegation (golden streaks) might fade.

• Avoid: Direct, harsh sun; it can burn the leaves.

 Water

• Rule of thumb: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry.

• Check method: Stick your finger in the soil—if it feels dry, it’s time.

• Warning: Don’t let it sit in soggy soil; pothos are prone to root rot.

 Temperature & Humidity

• Loves typical indoor temps: 65–85°F (18–29°C).

• Normal household humidity is fine, but it’ll enjoy a little extra moisture in drier climates (occasional misting is okay).

 Soil & Potting

• Use a well-draining potting mix (a standard indoor mix works; adding perlite helps drainage).

• Make sure your pot has a drainage hole.

 Fertilizer

• Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer (diluted to half strength) once a month during spring and summer.

• No need to fertilize in fall/winter when growth slows.

 Pruning & Styling

• Trim back long vines to encourage bushier growth.

• You can root cuttings in water to make new plants!

• Works well as a hanging plant or trained up a moss pole.
