Size

* The plant photos shown are our stock images used to represent the general appearance, size, and quality of the plant you’ll receive. Please remember that each plant is unique—natural variations in color, shape, and size are completely normal!

Light

  • Bright, indirect light is best — it’ll keep the plant’s color rich and encourage faster growth.

  • It tolerates medium to low light, but new leaves will grow more slowly and may stretch a bit.

  • Avoid harsh, direct sun, which can cause brown tips or faded color.

Water

  • This plant stores water in its thick leaves, so less is more!

  • Let the soil dry out completely before watering again — seriously, bone dry.

  • In warm months, you might water every 3–4 weeks.

  • In winter, once every 6–8 weeks is plenty.

  • Always use a pot with drainage holes and pour out any excess water from the saucer.

Soil

  • Use a fast-draining mix — cactus or succulent soil is perfect.

  • Add extra perlite or pumice for even better airflow and drainage.

  • Compact soil is a no-go; roots need space to breathe!

Temperature & Humidity

  • Prefers 65–85°F (18–29°C).

  • Normal indoor humidity is great — it’s a desert-type plant, so dry air is no problem.

  • Keep it away from cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C).

Fertilizing

  • Feed once a month in spring and summer with a diluted succulent fertilizer.

  • Skip fertilizing in fall and winter when growth slows down.

Other Care Tips

  • Wipe the leaves now and then to remove dust and keep them shiny.

  • If your starfish grows pups (smaller offshoots at the base), you can divide them once they have their own roots — it’s an easy way to get new plants!

  • Growth is slow, so don’t worry if it just sits pretty for a while. That’s normal.
