Airplants

Light

• Prefer bright, indirect light.

• Can tolerate some gentle morning sun, but avoid harsh afternoon sun.

• Artificial grow lights also work well if kept 6–12 inches away.

Water

• Best watered by soaking.

• Soak the plant in room-temperature water for 1-2 hours once a week.

• After soaking, shake off the excess water and let the plant dry upside down or on its side for at least 20-30 minutes. This helps prevent rot.

• Mist lightly between soakings if your air is very dry.

Humidity

• Prefer 50–70% humidity, but adapt well to average home levels if watered regularly.

Temperature

• Ideal range: 60–85°F (16–29°C).

• Protect from frost and cold drafts.

Airflow

• Good air circulation is essential.

• Avoid placing them in enclosed terrariums without ventilation.

Fertilizer

• Use a bromeliad or air plant fertilizer, diluted to ¼ strength, once a month.

• Helps encourage growth and blooming.

Placement

• Can be mounted on wood, shells, hanging glass globes, or set on a shelf.

• Do not place them on copper wire or in containers that retain moisture around the base.

Common Issues

• Brown tips: underwatering or overly dry air.

• Soft, mushy base: rot from staying wet too long.

• Leaf curling inward: needs more water.

• Faded color: insufficient light.

Toxicity

• Pet-Safe: Air plants are non-toxic to pets and humans, making them a great option for households with animals or small children.
