Syngonium Confetti 6"

Syngonium Confetti 6"

Light:

  • Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant colors.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and cause the pink variegation to fade.
  • It can tolerate lower light conditions, but this may reduce the intensity of the variegation and slow down growth.

Watering:

  • Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy.
  • Water less frequently during the winter months when the plant’s growth slows down.
  • Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the pot has good drainage.

Humidity:

Thrives in higher humidity levels, as it’s a tropical plant.

Mist the leaves regularly, especially in dry environments, or place the plant near a humidifier.

Browning leaf edges can be a sign that the humidity is too low.

Soil:

Use a well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter.

A mix for aroids or a standard houseplant mix with added perlite or orchid bark works well to keep the soil aerated and prevent waterlogging.

Temperature:

Prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F

Avoid exposing it to cold drafts, sudden temperature drops, or temperatures below 50°F, as this can cause damage to the plant.

Fertilizer:

Feed with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).

No need to fertilize in winter when the plant’s growth slows down.

Pruning & Maintenance:

Regularly trim back any leggy growth to maintain a bushy, compact shape.

Remove any yellow or damaged leaves to encourage new growth.

Syngonium Confetti can also be trained to climb if given support, as it has natural vining tendencies.

Pests:

Watch for common houseplant pests like spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs. Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

Keeping the leaves clean and misted helps to deter pests.

Propagation:

Easily propagated through stem cuttings. Take a cutting just below a node, and place it in water or directly into soil. New roots will develop after a few weeks.

Toxicity:

Syngonium Confetti is toxic to pets and humans if ingested, so keep it out of reach of children and pets.
