Light
- Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate medium light.
- Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves.
Watering
- Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings.
- Water thoroughly, then drain excess water. Avoid letting the plant sit in water, as it’s prone to root rot.
- In winter, reduce watering frequency as the plant’s growth slows.
Humidity
- Thrives in moderate to high humidity, but can tolerate average indoor humidity.
- If the air is very dry, consider misting occasionally or using a humidifier.
Temperature
- Ideal range: 65-75 degrees
- Protect it from cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F.
Soil
- Use a well-draining potting mix, such as one designed for cacti or succulents. You can mix regular potting soil with perlite or sand for better drainage.
Fertilizer
- Feed once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, diluted houseplant fertilizer
Pruning
- Prune occasionally to remove dead or yellowing leaves and maintain its shape.
Propagation
- Easy to propagate via stem cuttings. Let the cut end dry for a day before placing it in moist soil or water.
Pests
- Generally resistant to pests, but watch for mealybugs or spider mites. Treat infestations with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
Repotting
Repot only when root-bound, usually every 2-3 years. Use a slightly larger pot with drainage holes.
