Peperomia Funky Frog 4"

Peperomia Funky Frog 4"

Light

  • Loves bright, indirect light—a spot near an east- or north-facing window is ideal.
  • It can tolerate lower light but might grow more slowly and lose some vibrancy.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch those delicate leaves.

Watering

  • Let the top inch or two of soil dry out before watering.
  • Overwatering is a big no-no for Peperomias! Always err on the side of underwatering.
  • Use the "finger test" or a moisture meter to check if it’s time to water.

Soil

  • Peperomias prefer a light, well-draining soil mix.
  • A blend of potting soil and perlite works well. You can also use a cactus/succulent mix for extra drainage.

Temperature and Humidity

  • Thrives in average room temperatures (65–80°F / 18–27°C).
  • Likes moderate humidity but can adapt to drier indoor air. If your home is very dry, consider a small humidifier or place it near other plants to create a mini humid microclimate.

Fertilizer

  • Feed with a balanced, water-soluble houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer.
  • No need to fertilize in fall or winter when growth slows down.

Pruning

  • Trim leggy or damaged growth to keep the plant compact and bushy.
  • Regular pruning encourages fresh, healthy growth.

Repotting

  • Peperomias like being a bit root-bound, so you only need to repot every 2–3 years or when roots outgrow the pot.
  • Use a pot with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.

Common Issues

  1. Drooping Leaves? Likely overwatered—let the soil dry out before watering again.
  2. Brown Tips? Could be due to low humidity or underwatering. Adjust as needed.
  3. Yellowing Leaves? Often a sign of too much water or poor drainage.

Propagation

  • Super easy to propagate! Take a healthy stem cutting with 2–3 leaves, and place it in water or moist soil. It’ll root in a few weeks.
  • Leaf cuttings can also work—just bury the base of a leaf in moist soil and wait for roots to form.

Pet Safety

  • Peperomias are non-toxic to pets, making them a great option for homes with cats and dogs.
