Ficus Moonshine (also known as Ficus Shivereana) has incredible foliage but keep in mind it's toxic to pets.

🌞 Light

Your Ficus Moonshine loves bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can cause its beautiful leaves to burn, while too little light might fade its vibrant variegation. A spot near a north or east-facing window, or filtered light through a sheer curtain, works wonders.

💧 Watering

Water when the top half of the soil feels dry. Stick your finger in to check—if it's dry up to your second knuckle, it's time to water. Ensure excess water drains out to prevent root rot, and never let the pot sit in standing water. During spring and summer, you might water more frequently; in fall and winter, less so.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

This tropical beauty thrives in temperatures between 60–80°F. It also loves high humiditythink 50% or more. If your home is on the drier side, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant near other humidity-loving plants to create a microclimate.

🪴 Soil & Potting

Use a well-draining potting mix. You can enhance drainage by adding perlite or orchid bark to a standard potting soil. Repot annually or when the plant's size doubles. Signs it's time to repot include roots growing out of the drainage holes or the plant becoming top-heavy.

🌿 Fertilizer

Feed your Ficus Moonshine monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Hold off on fertilizing during fall and winter when the plant's growth slows down.

✂️ Pruning & Propagation

If your plant starts to outgrow its space, you can prune up to 25% of its growth during the active growing season (spring and summer). To propagate, take a healthy cutting and root it in water or soil—spring and summer are the best times for this.

🐛 Pests & Problems

Keep an eye out for common pests like aphids, spider mites, and scale. If you spot any, gently remove them with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol or use horticultural soap. Brown spots on leaves could indicate sunburn, while curling leaves might be a sign of inconsistent watering.
