Aloe Vera 4"

Aloe Vera 4"

Light:

Aloe Vera prefers bright, indirect sunlight. A south or east-facing window is ideal.

It can tolerate some direct sunlight, especially in the morning, but too much harsh afternoon sun can scorch the leaves.

Watering:

Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. Aloe Vera is drought-tolerant and prefers to be underwatered rather than overwatered.

In general, water every 2-3 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) and reduce watering in the fall and winter.

Soil:

Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent mix. You can also make your own by combining regular potting soil with sand or perlite for better drainage.

Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.

Humidity:

Aloe Vera does well in average humidity levels and does not require high humidity.

They can tolerate dry indoor air, making them suitable for most home environments.

Temperature:

Thrives in temperatures between 60°F and 75°F

Protect from temperatures below 50°F, as they are not frost-tolerant.

 Fertilizer:

Fertilize sparingly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced fertilizer every 4-6 weeks.

No need to fertilize in fall and winter when the plant is dormant.

Repotting:

Repot every 2-3 years or when it becomes root-bound.

Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and use fresh potting mix.

Pests:

Aloe Vera is generally resistant to pests, but watch for mealybugs, aphids, and scale.

If you notice any infestations, treat them with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

Pruning:

Remove any dead or damaged leaves to keep the plant healthy and looking tidy.

You can also trim back any long or leggy growth to promote bushiness.

Extra Tips:

Aloe Vera Gel: The gel inside the leaves is known for its soothing properties and can be applied to minor burns and skin irritations.

Propagation: Aloe Vera can be propagated from offsets (pups) that grow at the base of the plant. Wait until they are a few inches tall before removing and potting them.
